Inventory Maintenance (IVM)
1. Passcode Security Feature - The PASS ("Change Passwords") program allows you to setup IVM to require a passcode in order to Save or Delete an item. This is a security feature that prevents the inadvertent change or deletion of quantities of an item in inventory.
2. Foreign Pricing
- SYS, Config File, Change Misc. Configurations, number 2015 can be set with a percentage to reflect a selling price ("Our Price #1") more or less than the U.S. Retail ("Sugg. Price").
- SYS, Config File, Change Misc. Configurations, number 2051 can be set to use the "Our Price #1" instead of the "Sugg. Price" on the IVT, IVWO, IVO and IVR reports.
3. In the "Add" mode, when entering new items that are identical except for item number and barcode number, pressing <F3> in the "Desc." field will duplicate the remainder of the entries from the previously added item.
4. Screen One - Changes in General Information:
(a) The "Item #" field has been expanded to 13 characters.
(b) The "Auth/Artist" field has been expanded to 20 characters.
(c) "Will Call" is a new field which is addressed under POS, item number 9.
(d) The expansion of decimal places in pricing, which allows for more accurate discounting, is addressed under POS, item number 4.
(e) "Model" is a new field which the IVHR ("Inventory History Roll") automatically resets each month. "Model" represents the percentage makeup of inventory by department based on sales dollars. For example, if the Model parameters in SYS, Config. File, Change Misc. Configurations, numbers 2043 and 2044 have been set at "80" and "90" consecutively (user determines these percentages), items in inventory which fall into the range of 80% of sales dollars would be "A" items and items which fall into the range of 81% to 90% would be "B" items. The remainder of sold items would be "C" items. Items that have not sold are "D" items. Naturally, it would be important to keep an eye on the more profitable "A" and "B" items, as opposed to "C" and "D" items, to make sure there is always an ample supply of primary items in stock. Inventory makeup might look something like the following:

(f) The "Promotion #" field has been expanded to 5 characters.
(g) The "Status" field has been expanded to 5 characters.
5. Screen Two - Changes in Additional Information:
The "Multiples" field in Version 5.3 has been changed in Version 6.0 to "Grouping," and provides a list box with selections for identifying the items grouping type, as shown in the illustration below:
- Backlist - Equivalent of "N" in Version 5.3.
- Spl Order - Means item will never come up on a recommended order.
- Kit - Equivalent of "K" in Version 5.3.
- Multiple - Equivalent of "Y" in Version 5.3.
- Textbook - Used by school bookstores.
