IVDC - DATABASE COMPARE

To open IVDC, press <Alt M> (“Menu”) and follow the Menu path illustrated below, then press <Enter>, or simply enter <IVDC> in the “Enter Program Name” field and press <Enter>.

IVDC allows you to match the information in your store's inventory with the information on the databases included with Bookstore Manager Software.

When you open IVDC, you will be asked, “Do you wish to view this month’s program changes?”   If you select “Yes,” the file ECNS.TXT is brought up on the viewer.

Press Exit to go to the update screen.

You can match the information in your store’s inventory with the information on the databases included with Bookstore Manager Software, thereby changing prices, etc. and preparing labels to be printed.

·       You have the option of choosing to use the Christian Books & More price or to use the highest price listed by either CB&M or Distributors.  These options will compare all prices, making changes according to the option you have chosen.

·    You may prevent price changes of items with small increases by setting a limiting amount in SYS, Config File, Change Misc. Configurations, number 2095.

·       If a price increase is over 1.9 times higher than the IVM file, the program assumes it is a package price in the database and will not change the price in IVM.

·    Some stores might choose to use the “This Months Changes Only” option; however, remember that you MUST NOT miss a month, or your prices will not be current.

·       This program can compare the spelling of titles and authors and change your inventory titles, authors and bindings to match the Christian Books & More database.  If your store uses special prefixed titles to denote different types of accompaniment tapes, videos, and Bibles, you may not wish to use this option of the program, or you may wish to modify it in SYS, Config File, Change Misc. Configurations, number 2093.

·       You also have the option of skipping inventory items that are stocked in multiples.

You may run this program as often as you wish.

Note:   If there are certain publishers you wish to exempt from the IVDC changes, you may enter “N” in the “Use IVDC Change?” field of IVVM (“Vendor Maintenance”).
