VIP - VIDEO MASTERFILE/LABELS
To open VIP, press <Alt M> ("Menu") and follow the Menu path illustrated below, then press <Enter>, or simply enter <VIP> in the "Enter Program Name" field and press <Enter>.
Select the category you wish to print. The default is "All."
Select Print and a video list in alphabetical order by title will be printed. (Includes video number, title, category number and description, retail price, rental fee, and run-time.)

Select the "Print" command button, and a video list in alphabetical order by title will be printed. (Includes video number, title, category number and description, retail price, rental fee, run-time, cost, total fees, date purchased, current rentals, and total rentals.)

Select Print and a video list in numerical order by video tape number will be printed. (Includes video number, title, category number and description, retail price, rental fee, and run-time.)
Select the category you wish to print. The default is "All."
Select Print and a video list in numerical order by video tape number will be printed. (Includes video number, title, category number and description, retail price, rental fee, run-time, cost, total fees, date purchased, current rentals, and total rentals.)
Select the category you wish to print. The default is "All."
Select Print and a video list in numerical order by total rentals will be printed. (Includes video number, title, category number and description, retail price, rental fee, run-time, wholesale cost, total fees, date purchased, current rentals, and total rentals.)
Select the category you wish to print. The default is "All."
Select Print and a video list in alphabetical order by title will be printed. (Includes the running time and title; four columns to a page.)
A message will be displayed:
- Choose "Yes" to limit the report to videos that have not been returned by the due date.
- Choose "No" to print a list of all videos that are checked out.
Select Print for a list of videotapes that have been checked out. this will be a numeric printout by video number. (Includes video number, title, member number, date checked out, date due, and member's name, address, and phone number.)
A message will be displayed:
- Choose "Yes" and the previous batch of labels will be deleted
- Choose "No" and the previous batch of labels will not be deleted.
Note: Normally you will want to delete the previous batch of labels. But if you enter "No" you have the option to print or reprint the previous batch of labels. Also, a list of videos chosen to be printed may be appended and then all printed at once.
Select "Continue" and the following options will be displayed:
Note:
- Choosing to print "Individual Video Labels" will print labels for specific video tapes and allows you to enter the number of labels you want printed for each individual videotape. (Includes video number, title, category description, rental fee, and running time in minutes.)
- Choosing to print an "Entire Video Category" or "All Videos" will print one label for each video number. When you are first labeling your videos, you will need to print twice, because you will need one label for the original videotape box and one label for the carry-out box. (Includes video number, title, category description, rental fee, and running time in minutes.)
Enter the "Video Number" of the video tape that needs label(s). The title of the video will be displayed.
Enter the number of video labels you want to print (defaults to 1) and press <Enter>. The cursor will return to the "Video Number" field, so you may enter other video numbers for labels you need printed. After entering all the video numbers you need, select Exit or press <Esc> to go back to the "Options" window. This creates a file that allows you to print the labels using the "Print Labels" option.
Select the category of the labels you need printed (default is "All") and press Select to create a file that allows you to print the labels using the "Print Labels" option.
Choosing this option will create a file that allows you to print labels for all videos, using the "Print Labels" option.
After creating a file for printing labels using the above options, choose this option to print the labels.
- You may print a test pattern to help line up the labels on dot matrix printers.
- On laser printers, you choose which label on the page to begin printing (on a sheet of 30 labels or a sheet of 50 labels), and you will be told how many labels there are to be printed and how many pages of labels needed.
