COMM COMMUNICATIONS
Use the COMM program to access "FIDO" for communicating with Bookstore Manager Softwares BBS and the optional Electronic Communication programs for transmitting orders to vendors.
FIDO is a program that allows you to download/upload file(s) from Bookstore Managers BBS. Our BBS uses Wildcat! and supports 2400 bps to 33,600 bps connect rates. Before using this program you will need to set up your stores unique settings in SYS, Config File, Change Misc. Configurations, number 7010.
To open COMM, press <Alt M> ("Menu") and follow the Menu path illustrated below, then press <Enter>, or simply enter <COMM> in the "Enter Program Name" field and press <Enter>.
Bookstore Manager BBS (Internet)
This button starts the included “FIDO” program. This program will call connect you to the broadband BBS Page, and you will be able to download or upload files by using your broadband (high-speed) connection.
This button starts the included “FIDO” program. This program will call the Bookstore Manager Software BBS, and you will be able to download or upload files by using your dial up modem.
This button starts the optional "Generic Electronic Ordering" program. In addition to the vendors listed on the right side of the screen, this program can be used to call vendors not set up otherwise in the communications program.
SAS (Standard Automated Session)
This button starts the optional "SAS" program. This program is for vendors who are set up to accept Standard Automated Sessions. These vendors are listed on the right side of the screen.
Spring Arbor (Ingram) Flashback
This button starts the optional "Ingram" program. This program calls Ingrams system.
Central South Christian Dist.
This button starts the Optional "Central South Christian Distributors" program. This program calls Central Souths system.
This button starts the optional FTP program. This program communicates with the various vendors via a broadband Internet connection as opposed to telephone dial up. For setup instructions, you can click the TUTOR icon on the BSMGR Toolbar and click Tech Documents, then click on FTP Ordering.
Process Electronic Acks. Or Invoices
You may use this button to access the IVIC ("Electronic Invoices and Confirmation") program, which is part of the optional Electronic Ordering programs.
