Convert Database Pub # - PUBS

• You will need to tie your assigned vendors numbers to Spring Arbor’s abbreviations for vendors. You will find the abbreviations in Spring Arbor’s catalogue or on the microfiche. Enter the vendor’s abbreviation, then enter the number you have assigned to that vendor. When using the database and transferring to your inventory or to a special order, the vendor number you have assigned to the publisher of the item will be entered in the Vendor #1 field.
• Also, on your SYStem Environment, you should have a line that reads DATA-BASE-SUP1 001 The 001 is the publisher number that will default to an item entered from the database that the publisher has not been assigned. You will want to change this number to the publisher number you have given the distributor from which you usually order. Example: If you use Spring Arbor for your main distributor, and you have given Spring Arbor the number 083, you would change the above 001 to 083. After you (S)ave, you will have to exit out of Bookstore Manager then go back into BSMGR.
