Adding Items to Your Inventory
IVM - Add/Change/Delete, Option 3 - Massive Additions
This program is used to help build your inventory using the database provided with Bookstore Manager. Most of the items that you want to stock will be in this database and using this program will save you from having to type in most of the information on each item.
Manual input from workstation
This option allows you to enter items that you want to include in a particular category. For example you may be entering books you want in the "Fiction" category. Type in IVM and select option 3. Choose Option 1 Manual input from workstation. Type in the category number that you want the items to default. Then enter the amount you want to stock. You will then be prompted "ALL OK? Y/N/C". If you press Y a screen prompting for an item number comes up. Enter an item number or use the barcode reader and scan, and if that item is in the database all the needed information is automatically entered. If the item is not in the database, a blank inventory screen will come up and you can enter the needed information. Continue entering items until you have all items in that category included in your inventory. To end the program press <ESC>. Then take items in another category and enter in the same way.
The Inventory Maintenance program IVM allows you to add new items to your inventory, make changes to items already on your inventory, and delete items in your inventory that you no longer want to stock.
