Setup Cognitive Solutions Blaster Bacode Printer (Serial)
Question: How do I configure my Cognitive Solutions Blaster Barcode Serial printer to work with BSMGR in Windows / DOS?
Answer: First be sure you have the black-bar labels (195) recommended by the manufacturer.
For a Windows workstation to which the Blaster is connected, setup TTY as described in the display pole setup (substitute COMX:9600,N,8,2 with COMX:9600,N,8,1). Install the Generic Text Printer driver included with Windows and set its port to that of the COMport to which the Blaster is connected. With the printer driver installed, goto a NOTEPAD...

Goto FILE / Choose PRINT as if you where to print the document. At this point the printer's light will blink, turn of the printer for about 10 seconds then on again. Next step...
For a Dos workstation to which the Blaster is connected, add MODE COMX:9600,N,8,1 (where "X" equals the printer's comport number) to the Autoexec.bat and reboot. Go to the DOS Prompt, type CD\BOOK then enter and type EDIT BLAST press enter...

In BSMGR v.5.3x, SYS/CONFIG FILE / #5 / Line 409 should be set to "Y" and line 501 set to "IVBC"
In BSMGR v.6.x, SYS/CONFIG FILE / Change Misc. Configurations / Line 2067 should be set to "Y" and line 2070 set to IVBC.
Add the following line to SYS / ENVIRONMENT:
BLAZER-OUT ??-D COMX (where "X" equals the printer's comport number)
