Technical Support: Time Out Waiting for dev/tty1A

Exit to the $ sign and type: su <press enter>
You will be asked for the password, type it in and press enter. This will give you the # sign.
At the # sign type: outmodem <press enter>
If you get the message "outmodem not found" type the following commands at the # sign:

disable tty1a tty1A
chown user00 /dev/tty1A
chgrp group /dev/tty1A
chmod 777 /dev/tty1A

At the # sign type: exit <press enter>
This will take you back to the $ sign.

Finally, turn your modem off and back on.
If you still get the "Time out waiting for /dev/tty1A" then unplug the modem from the serial port on the computer and try the other serial port.
