Technical Support: Error -1 Received During Transfer

There are 2 main causes of this error.

  1. Protocol: If you are trying to download a file from BSMGR’s BBS you can try a different protocol.
    This is done by typing:
    EDIT at the "Select Option" prompt. <press enter>
    When prompted for a file name type:
    BBSINFO <press enter>
    The contents of the file should be displayed on the screen. Look for the line that starts with the word Protocol. The current setting will follow the word Protocol. To change, simply type the letter corresponding to the new protocol on top of the current letter. Next press
    F4 for options and type S to save.
    Whitaker is the only company which gives you the option of changing the protocol when electronic ordering. This is done by typing:
    EDIT at the "Select Option" prompt. <press enter>
    When prompted for a file name type:
    SAS.XXX <press enter>
    (Where XXX= Whitaker ‘s supplier number.)
    When the Screen comes up with Whitaker’s information, arrow down to the last entry, this is the current protocol setting. Type the new setting in place of the current settig.

    Protocol options are:
    Z = ZMODEM
    K = Kermit
    Y = YMODEM
    G = YMODEM-G
    X = XMODEM
    C = XMODEM_CRC
    O = XMODEM-1K
  2. Line Noise: You can try a different phone line or get a noise filter from an electronics store or have your telephone service provider test your line quality.
